Program overview
This approach at combining resources from the three disciplines in the School of Performing Arts (SPA) allows students to formulate and follow tailor-made programmes of their own personal choice. Students will be required to register for 60 ECTS credits every year, which will be divided approximately equally from the three areas of study offered by SPA (Dance, Music, Theatre). Any conditions pertaining to prerequisite study-units will apply, and there will be no synoptic examinations in the final year. The students will however be required to write a dissertation in combined performing arts involving at least two, or all three named disciplines.

Career opportunities
We hope that our graduates will shape the creative arts and educational sectors of the future. We work hard to maintain strong links with professionals in the performing and cultural sectors, nationally and internationally. Our study-units are designed and taught to international standards of excellence. We believe that the range and quality of the study-units we offer give our students an advantage in a competitive world. The Honours degree in combined Performing Arts is intended for persons in search of interdisciplinary skills and knowledge in dance, music, and theatre. It is a flexible undergraduate programme that promotes theoretical and practical hands-on learning that enables students to seek employment opportunities, both locally and abroad, in a wide variety of areas. These include teaching, arts and cultural industries, performance companies, broadcasting, journalism, archiving, academic research, publishing, scriptwriting and proof-reading. Such careers provide enough opportunities for the integration of interdisciplinary research techniques with innovation aimed at the creation of projects employing the performing arts. The programme is also conceived as one of the pathways for students aiming for a career in academia. The Bachelor in Performing Arts provides a direct undergraduate pathway to the already-existing postgraduate programme, MA by Research in Performing Arts.
