Program overview

The course is taught on a seminar basis and is intended to further deepen students' knowledge of European politics, law and economics so that by the end of the course they can rightly claim to be ‘specialised generalists’ i.e. graduates with a broad knowledge of the EU but with a deeper specialised understanding in particular areas. The aim is to encourage students to develop their analytical and critical skills – something which is aided by the way the seminars are structured.

Career opportunities

Most of the students who are enrolled in the MA are usually students who wish to further their studies at post-graduate level or graduates in employment, often dealing with EU matters and for that reason they find the MA useful in further developing their skills for the position they already occupy. There are others who follow the MA because it helps them progress in their careers, given that the EU has become such an important factor in most situations or to help them switch their career. The degree is a sine qua non for further study leading to the Ph.D. The Masters degree is also very useful for those seeking to work in the EU institutions or in international organizations or who aspire to high positions in the business sector.
