During the programme, you will study a range of modules in economics, finance, business and mathematics to prepare you for a career working as actuary across a number of industries. Industries where actuaries are employed include the insurance, banking and government sectors, where they work to calculate costs, determine premiums, develop derivative products, manage risk, forecast the future and ensure compliance with regulatory laws. The actuarial profession involves the application of mathematics through probability and statistics tools to analyse risk for future uncertainty.

University welcomes applications from high-quality candidates in all subjects with appropriate high school or equivalent qualifications. Students will normally be expected to have a high standing in their high school performance with a minimum ‘B’ average in all subjects as well as relevant subjects. For international applicants, if you are a non-native English speaker, or if you have not previously studied in English, you must have satisfactory English language skills to study at XJTLU.
