Bangor University is ranked in the top 40 in the UK for research, according to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014. The REF recognised that more than three-quarters of Bangor’s research is either world-leading or internationally excellent, ahead of the average for UK universities.

The most recent National Student Survey (NSS 2018) results place Bangor amongst the UK’s top 10 universities for student satisfaction

Entry requirements

For entry onto the first year of our 3 or 4 year undergraduate / Bachelor degree programmes, the university ask for a school leaving qualification which is equivalent to the British school leaving qualification, (A-levels / International Baccalaureate).

To be eligible for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, international students must satisfy English Language Requirements. Minimum grades are IELTS 6.0 and PTE 56. For some programmes they may be higher. Also, some programmes can have additional requirements.

When you first arrive at the University you'll be welcomed by Peer Guides who are on hand to help you settle-in, throughout your time as a student you'll have a personal tutor and you can also access the range of support services on offer in our Student Services centre.
