Coursework is designed to guide you through the creative process for your preferred genre, from poetry to screenwriting. Communication skills are a key factor in career advancement, whether you work in a creative field or not. Every English major must complement their program with foundational business studies, leading either toward a minor or a second major in Business Studies. This ensures you leave Bentley with broad business skills, in addition to technical proficiency in the written arts.

Required of all students: • Application form with a $75 fee. • Official high school transcript or GED score report. • Core curriculum requirements: • College essay. • Senior Grades. • Two letters of recommendation. • Standardized test scores. SAT or ACT standardized test. The preferred minimum scores are TOEFL: 233 computer-based, 577 paper-based or 90 Internet-based (score of 100 or better encouraged), a minimum score of 20 on each of the TOEFL subsections. IELTS: 7, with a minimum score of 7 on each of the IELTS subsections.
