Program overview

Instructional Psychology and Technology deals with identifying and implementing improvements in instruction and understanding the principles that influence these improvements. IP&T applies these principles to solve instructional problems, which occur in educational settings, including public schools and universities, government, church, military, business, and industry. The program requires students to attain skills in the following areas: Research Instructional Design and Development Evaluation and Measurement Students participate in department seminars, interact with other students in group projects and informal study, collaborate with faculty, and participate in a wide variety of internship experiences. All majors are accepted.

GPA Self report your final degree GPA as indicated on your transcript or academic record. International applicants must convert their raw GPA to a 4.0 scale. Tests Take the appropriate entrance test as required by your program of interest and have the official scores sent to BYU. Letters of Recommendation Request letters of recommendation from previous professors or professionals. Three letters are required for all except MBA and EMBA (those require 2). Statement of Intent Describe your educational and career objectives and how graduate work will fit those goals. Resume Check the Resume section of the application to see if your program requires a resume. Other Documents Complete any additional application materials that may be required by your department. English Proficiency Requirement (Non-native English speakers only) International Visa Requirements Provide copies of current U.S. visas and passport biographic pages for yourself and any dependents that may accompany you, along with proof of finances for the duration of your program. Pay and submit your application online. Pay the $50 application fee and submit the application before the published graduate program deadline.
