This program is a wide-ranging and innovative degree. In the first year, all students follow a common curriculum covering the three main branches of contemporary English studies: English Language, English Literature and Creative Writing. In the second and third year you will choose to specialise in one of these branches while taking modules from other areas. Following your own pathway, you will graduate with one of three named degrees: BA (Hons) English: Language, BA (Hons) English: Literature, or BA (Hons) English: Creative Writing.
This program can be done
- 112 UCAS points from a minimum of two A Levels or equivalent (e.g. 1 x AVCE double award). - Maximum of 6 points from Level 3 Key Skills qualifications. - Three passes at GCSE grade C or above, which must include Mathematics and English Language, or a minimum of Level 2 Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number. If you have studied for a GCSE which has a numerical grade then you will need to achieve a grade 4 or above. - If English is not your first language, then English language qualification is needed.
