The Mechanical Engineering program offers four concentration areas for students interested in focusing their engineering and technical elective course work. The concentration areas include: Aerospace Engineering; Bioengineering; Mechanics of Materials & Structures; and Sustainable Energy. Examples of recent student projects include the development of a simulated lunar rover that competed in NASA's Great Moonbuggy Race, the design of a laser-based scale used for weighing meat, and the development of instrumentation for ergonomic assessment used in back research. Many projects put students in direct contact with industry. Of particular note is our Design Clinic, which offers industry-sponsored two-semester capstone design projects with intensive industry involvement for all senior mechanical engineering students.

Official secondary school transcript sent directly to Admissions by your high school (official translation of transcripts if not already in English). First quarter grades or mid-year grades if available. One letter of recommendation is required. All applicants whose first language is not English must send official TOEFL or IELTS test scores to the Office of Admissions.
