This programme addresses the contemporary trends of pervasive computerization, better performance, cheaper products and reduced environmental impact. While combining electrical engineering and computer science, students will be challenged in research and design for applications such as:
Embedded software for controlling the power grid;
Automatic vehicles;
Car-to-car communication;
Flying robots;
Verification techniques;
Multi-core architectures;
Energy-efficient wireless communication (e.g. high-performance applications (radar systems), underwater communication)
The core of this one-year, English-taught programme consists of three interconnected domains of sustainable development: environment, energy and water. The programme teaches the interrelated management and governance of these three crucial natural resources. Graduating in one of the three domains will prepare you for working with multidisciplinary teams in business, government, consultancy or (PhD) research anywhere in the world.
The one-year Master’s programme in European Studies is an internationally oriented programme taught entirely in English. It’s aim is to provide you with exceptional, in-depth instruction in the principles of European Studies. The programme is worth 60 credits and leads to the title of Master of Science (MSc).
UT curriculum integrates two fields vital to geo-information science and earth observation: remote sensing (RS) and geographic information systems (GIS). Remote sensing involves the collection and analysis of scientific data at, above or below the earth’s surface without coming into physical contact with them. Geographic information systems are then used to analyze, visualize and organize the data collected by remote sensing.
In the first quartile of the Master’s programme students will start with three general courses:
HEALTH ECONOMIC MODELING (5 EC)
In the course in 'Health economic modeling' students will learn (and give presentations) about different types of economic health models and how they can be used to promote decision making in healthcare.
STAKEHOLDER PREFERENCE ELICITATION AND DECISION SUPPORT (5 EC)
In 'Stakeholder preference elicitation and decision support' (SPECS) students will learn to consider multidisciplinary perspectives when making choices. Students will look at the different interests of all parties involved – patient, care provider, and government.
DATA SCIENCE (5 EC)
Data science is the emerging interdisciplinary field at the intersection of informatics, statistics, visualization and social sciences.
As of the second quartile students will choose one of the following specializations, each focusing on a specific area within the field. Students can now also opt to obtain a teaching degree.
Personalized monitoring and coaching (15 EC). In this specialization students will focus on how to use wearables, smartphones and other technology to gather individual patient data and how to use this information to improve healthcare.
Optimization of healthcare processes (15 EC). In this specialization students will focus on the strategic component of patient-oriented healthcare management.
Innovation in public health (15 EC). In this specialization students can look into all kinds of innovative ways to improve public healthcare.
In the third and fourth quartile students will finish their programme with a Master’s assignment (30 EC), in which they will write a thesis related to a research topic.
The two-year Master’s in Industrial Design Engineering is an internationally oriented programme and is taught entirely in English.
Industrial Design Engineering has a strong academic focus, with an emphasis on design methodologies and problem-solving strategies underpinned by a solid theoretical foundation. Extending and reinforcing the understanding of design principles, theoretical concepts and the relationship between products and product-development processes is a central aim of the Master’s programme.
The Industrial Engineering & Management Bachelor’s Programme at the University of Twente is a three-year course, with each year composed of four modules. In each module all the important aspects of the studies come together around one central theme: theory and practice, research and solution design, self-study and teamwork. There are twelve modules in total; the last two are reserved for graduation project. On successful completion of the programme,students will become a Bachelor of Science (BSc).
This unique programme will take studenrs to the cutting edge of science and technology. Students will immerse themrselves in the technical disciplines they are most interested in, such as computer science or electrical engineering. At the same time students will develop broader knowledge and skills, preparing themselves for a role as either a researcher, a designer or an entrepreneur. Whichever students choose, they will be equipped to create exciting, meaningful interactive technology solutions that answer to the needs and wants of their target users.
Studying International Business Administration at the University of Twente will broadly equip students for a career in today’s globalized corporate world. In this Bachelor’s programme, students will learn:
Digital Business
Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Strategy
Financial Management
Human Resource Management
International Management
Strategic Marketing
Purchasing and Supply Management
During this Master's programme students will gain thorough knowledge of the most important aspects of Internet technologies. Students will also acquire the analytical and critical skills they need to understand and help shape new technological developments. On top of that, they will learn to create new products and systems.
