The Bachelor’s programme in Civil Engineering will teach students about all these aspects. This programme focuses on three core themes: construction, transport and water. In learning about construction, students will study the functional design of structures and the management of the construction process. Transport is about the combination of infrastructure, mobility and sustainable transport systems.
The Master’s in Civil Engineering and Management is a two-year programme worth 120 credits. An academic year is divided into four quarters with a schedule of ten weeks each. The study load for a quarter is 15 European Credits (EC).
The full-time programme is taught entirely in English and focuses extensively on both the technical and non-technical aspects of the planning, design, realization and maintenance of civil engineering projects and systems. You will be awarded a Master of Science (MSc) degree upon graduation.
During each module the team project, theory, research and the development of academic skills come together around a central theme. Students will work on concrete, up-to-date problems and at the same time acquire insight into relevant, contemporary theories and models in the field of Communication Science. Students will develop the skills necessary to carry out and interpret research. In this way they will not only be trained as a communication expert, but also as an all-round researcher. Students will also learn to communicate convincingly about their own work, of course, always hitting the right note with the right target group.
The Master’s course is split into two semesters, with both consisting of an eight-week teaching block, and a two-week examination block. Studnts have to get 60 European credits (1 EC corresponds with 28 hours of study) within the programme. The nominal study load is 15 EC per block, with some flexibility. The exact range of specialization courses and the blocks in which courses are offered may vary per academic year. The study programme also offers elective space, giving stuudents the opportunity to specialize and explore pathways to becoming the professional you want to be.
The two-year Master’s in Computer Science comprises 120 credits and is taught entirely in English. It features a clear international orientation. The programme’s overall focus is on the development of ICT systems in their societal context, technological aspects and applications of embedded systems, and on the development process of sophisticated software systems.
The Master's programme in Construction Management and Engineering (CME) covers two academic years. An academic year is divided into four quarters with a schedule of ten weeks each.
A few courses that students might take on the CME programme are shown below.
Planning and Process Management
Construction Industry Dynamics
Sustainability and Circularity in Civil Engineering
Digital Technologies for Civil Engineering
The Bachelor's programme in Creative Technology takes three years, with each year consisting of four modules. In each module (ten weeks), students will study a problem in a project team together with other students. All subjects within the project are interrelated, and they will be challenged to devise practical solutions.
YEAR 1: Students will encounter disciplines such as Design, New Media, Computer Science, Smart Technology and Mathematics & Modelling.
YEAR 2: This year will involve disciplines such as Design, Computer Science, Business, Mathematics and Modelling and is devoted to this specialization in Smart Technology or New Media.
YEAR 3: Students will enhance their knowledge through elective courses aimed at human-technology interaction, ethics and professional conduct.
The EST Master’s programme centres on three specific sets of competencies students will not find in other similar programmes. Students can become a researcher, an educational designer, a consultant – or merge all three into their own personal career path. These three roles, combined with EST strong focus on technology and student's choice between two key fields of work – Education Design & Effectiveness and Human Resource Development – makes this a one-of-a-kind programme. In fact, the UT is among the world’s top 10 universities in the field of learning sciences.
During the first year of the Bachelor’s programme Electrical Engineering students will establish a solid foundation of knowledge and skills. They will study Mathematics, Physics, Information Technology, Electronics and Electromagnetics. In the second year of the Bachelor’s programme Electrical Engineering students will build on the foundation they laid in the first year, gaining more in-depth knowledge that will be essential for working on innovations that can change the world later in their career.
The Electrical Engineering Master’s programme is all about specialization: there are no core courses that have to be taken by all students. All specializations share the same structure. In the first year students will attend lectures in their specialized field and in their second year will further develop the knowledge and skills students have acquired during your studies by applying them to practical work and problem-based learning. Students will be given the chance to tackle problems that even the professionals have yet to solve.
