Master of Arts in Knowledge and Information Management

The course is presently offered on either a full-time or part-time basis. It consists of a research-based Master, with 10 ECTS credits awarded for lecture-based work and 80 ECTS credits for the student’s thesis. The lecture-based study-units are aimed towards providing the student with the advanced research techniques required for the writing of a Master-level thesis. All areas relating to libraries, archives, other forms of information-providing institutions and related issues are considered as topics for research by the Department’s Board of Studies. Master of Arts in Linguistics

This programme requires students to collaborate with their supervisor to identify a topic of interest and then design and execute their own research programme in the chosen area. The dissertation topics are extremely varied, ranging from experimental and corpus-based studies to more theoretical work. Ultimately, whether or not a topic is accepted depends on the ability of a student and supervisor to collaborate on identifying a topic that is of interest to both of them.

Master of Arts in Media and Communications

Master of Engineering (Building Engineering)

The M.Eng. in Building Engineering degree is a second tier qualification, one of the routes leading to the EU accredited warrant of the Perit. It is the last two years of the 1+3+2course structure streamlined to respect the Bologna Convention. In this light, the programme is designed to have at least 50% of its content covering engineering subjects, at least 20% covering basic sciences, (including mathematics, numerical analysis, statistics etc.), and at least 10% of the course covering non-technical subjects, (including management, and environment).
